University of Lisbon, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) The Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) is the largest and oldest engineering school in Portugal, with approximately 500 undergraduate and 1500 post-graduate students in the areas of engineering, science, technology and rchitecture. IST is a research oriented school, with a large record of participation in international esearch projects and involvement in international university networks.
The work in HANDLE will be carried out at the Computer Vision Lab (VisLab) of the Institute for Systems and Robotics (IST/ISR). IST/ISR is a national research organization stablished in 1991 currently working in the areas of computer vision, robotics, automation, control, signal processing, and energy management and production, with an emphasis on systems theory.
The IST/ISR group involved in this project has deep expertise in the areas of image processing, pattern recognition, computer vision and biologically inspired robotics. The team has been involved in numerous international R&D projects in the areas of computer vision and robotics: ROBOTCUB, CONTACT, AVIAR, MIRROR, OMNIVIEWS, NARVAL, VIRSBS, SMARTII, VIRTUOUS, acting as coordinator in some of them. | |
